Marquee Hire loved being part of beautiful bride Angela’s wedding to Neil on the 26^th August 2017. Angela designed her own wedding dress, which we made to measure to fit her perfectly, in champagne satin and gold lace.  From the moment we first met this relaxed and charming bride-to-be, Angela was an absolute pleasure to work with.

Providing the marquee for such a happy occasion and be part of making special couples dream come true. The finishing touches were chosen to add to the occasion, ensuring every detail was taken care of. As they were married in August, the floral designer put together the most glorious summer bouquets, table decorations and flower arch in gorgeous pink and white roses.

Angela and Neil chose to marry at St Lawrence’s Church in Lurgashall, followed by a relaxed reception in a stunning marquee from Marquee Hire Cobham.

As the often unpredictable British Summer draws to a close, our thoughts turn to dark days, bright nights and creating warm winter events.

Winter marquee hire events are becoming increasingly popular with our team creating bespoke marquee hire packages this winter for The German Embassy, Action Medical Research, 10 weeks of activities at Chessington Garden centre and whole host of private parties and weddings across London, Surrey and Sussex.

Here at JF Marquees and Marquee Hire recently we were very excited to have been given the opportunity to get involved with London Fashion Week.  We were approached by fashion designer Edeline Lee, who required a space in which she could showcase her brand new collection.  Edeline needed a marquee which ran alongside the rear terrace of Somerset House, exposing visitors to some fabulous views over the River Thames.

The marquee build was fairly straightforward, though we had to make sure the marquee was weighted as it was constructed directly onto the terrace.  However, the timescales were very tight, and we needed to ensure we could both build and then de rig the marquee very quickly.  This was a little tricky as we had limited access to the site, however our experienced team pulled it off and Edeline’s marquee was a success.

You can see from the image above how the structural nature of the marquee was emphasised by the layout, using a number of pods for models rather than the traditional cat walk/run way!  The lighting and sound has to be just right, and there needs to be plenty of space available for photographers and journalists as well as other guests.

It’s worth remembering that marquees aren’t simply for weddings and country fairs – they are so versatile that they can be used for all sorts of occasions.  As well as providing a stand along venue, they can also be incorporated into existing buildings, therefore extending the space which is already there.  Our marquee at London Fashion Week is a good example of this, as we were able to provide an extension of a stunning location, therefore helping to add much need space and functionality to the venue.

Heating Information

There is a popular and generally misguided conception about the features, benefits and needs for marquee heating of a temporary structure. Many a seemingly successful summer event is ruined by the rush for extra layers as the sun sets. Please be aware that many guests don’t bring coats or wraps to summer events – in our opinion neither should they need to.

Our marquee heaters are installed and maintained by specialist heating engineers. They have researched and developed a market leading modern heater portfolio. The heaters are silenced equipment, barely visible within the marquee, with covers to discreetly sit outside the marquee and thermostatically controlled. They are a far cry away from the other available run of the mill marquee heating systems.

In order to keep you warm from our cool breezy summer nights, or keep the chill away from a brisk winter we thoroughly advise that you consider our recommendations.

Marquee Hire modern silenced heaters with low profile diffusers are a far cry from the usual run of the mill marquee heating; as a result they are perfect for winter marquee hire.

For larger scale events marquee hire can also offer a more substantial marquee heating option to re-circulate the air within the temporary structure.
